The sanctuary covers an area of 53km square and serves as home to crocodiles, 26 mammal species including 4 species of primates, duikers and red river hog.
Among the recorded bird species is the highly threatened bare-headed rock fowl.
The Bomfobiri falls is an important tourist attraction.
