Boabeng-Fiema Monkey Sanctuary is Ghana's most famous example of traditional African conservation. The sanctuary is nestled in between the two villages of Boabeng and Fiema; the sanctuary is home to over 200 Geoffrey’s Pied Columbus and 500 Campbell's Mona Monkeys.
The sanctuary covers an area of 53km square and serves as home to crocodiles, 26 mammal species including 4 species of primates, duikers and red river hog.
The Bat Sanctuary (Sombo) is a successful traditional wildlife reserves. Other interesting attraction in the region are the smoothly polished mushroom-shaped rock formation leaning on their sides (Wuling).
There are several bird species in the Kadjebi District. These include waver birds, egrets, and even parrots. Most of them can be seen in the rice fields.
