Turkish Airlines would Thursday begin scheduled flights to Accra via Lagos.

The airline will fly four times a week. The entry of Turkish Airlines brings to 29 the number of airlines operating from Ghana.

Turkish businesses are meanwhile said to be excited about the prospects of having direct connection to Ghana.

The Vice President of the Federation of Businesses and Industries in Turkey Recep Eksi in an interview with Joy Business was hopeful the initiative will enhance business activities between the two countries .

“If you look at the history, anywhere Turkish airlines start their flights you will see that the volumes of business also increases. It more than doubles," he said.

He added that business opportunities will further increase trade volumes between the two countries.

He made the remark when a trade mission from the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre recently visited that country.
