The parks vegetation is savannah woodland with forest along the banks of rivers, stretching over the catchment’s area of the Black Volta.
It is the natural haven for the hippo in the Black Volta and also provides habitat for the different species of the primate and antelope family.
The park also boasts of wonderful and unique bird species which adds some flavor to the natural haven.
